How Dust & Salt began.

It all begins with an idea … DUST & SALT came to life in 2019.

The moments in my day I most looked forward to included time spent with my dog Copper. Having just left the corporate world, I reached out to Copper’s dog walker ( Laina @ Santa Barbara Dog Jog ) to see if she needed any help with her clients. From there a passion and love for dogs, their owners, and Santa Barbara began to take root.

In October 2019 including my own dog Copper in our wedding was a must. I learned firsthand the importance of a trusted pet attendant. Then, between 2019 - 2023, I worked as a dog walker and jogger for SB Dog Jog and got acquainted with how necessary a dog’s exercise is. As a current dog washer at The Dirty Dog Wash & Goods, I have practical knowledge of how dogs behave as well as different dog personalities and how to handle them.

As of 2025 our family includes 3 dogs of our own, 5 chickens, a sulcata tortoise, a horse and a crested gecko - plus a limitless love for our community and its animal residents.
